I came to the Alexander Technique because I was looking for a way to resolve recurring back trouble. After about 18 months of individual lessons I joined the training school at LCATT and I now hold a qualification from the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique.
I have a degree in Antenatal Education and trained as an antenatal teacher with NCT (the National Childbirth Trust). I have completed the Eutokia training with Ilana Machover and can offer individual lessons or groups classes in the Alexander Technique for pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting.
I am a recreational runner and passionate open (and cold) water swimmer and I have found many ways to apply the Technique to my participation in these sports as well as to everyday life. I recently completed the Art of Running training with Malcolm Balk and am happy to offer lessons that focus on the application of the principles of the Alexander Technique to running.
In September 2017 I started a PhD at the University of Hull in which I will be exploring women’s experiences of using the Alexander Technique in pregnancy.
I have also worked as a lawyer in the City of London and completed the introductory certificate as an Iyengar Yoga teacher.
I live in Islington with my husband. I have three adult children who are very much at the “boomerang” stage of their lives so the number who live with us is variable.
When I am not working or studying I am a keen year round open water swimmer.
